Abstract

Se describen diversos métodos, sistemas y dispositivos para tratar la ablación de tejidos. Algunas modalidades descritas en el presente documento se refieren a métodos para tratar tumores, sistemas usados para irradiar tejidos y tumores con radiación electromagnética, componentes y dispositivos de ese sistema, y kits para proporcionar sistemas usados para irradiar tejidos y tumores con radiación electromagnética. En algunas modalidades, el sistema proporciona radiación infrarroja subablativa que es absorbida por nanopartículas. En algunas modalidades, las nanopartículas absorben la radiación convirtiéndola en energía térmica. En algunas modalidades, aunque la radiación infrarroja en sí misma puede ser subablativa, la energía térmica generada por las nanopartículas es suficiente para causar la coagulación térmica, la hipertermia y/o la ablación del tejido.
