Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for obtaining nopal mucilage for transforming it into a cream for cosmetic and medical purposes. The process consists of the cleaning of the nopal from thorns and other types of particles and contamination, immersing the nopal for a period of up 40mins to 60mins in distilled water free of bacteria, recovering the mucilage, and mixing it with the water. Also, it comprises a runoff of residues of the mixture to deposit the nopal on a plate at a temperature of up to 150 degrees or higher, which removes the excess of the liquid and causes the tissue of the outermost nopal to burn to cause a reaction, yielding more mucilage, and initiating the extraction of the rest of the mucilage by cooking. Further, said process repeats as many times as necessary, obtaining an approximate mixture of up to 70% mucilage and up to 30% water. Additionally, the mucilage is transformed into a cream by adding the following 10% of cocoa butter, 10% of coconut oil, one ml of tea tree for each liter of mixture-mucilage, carbopol, emulsifier, and conservative.
