Abstract

Se proporcionan un método y aparato para la clasificación de una muestra de tabaco de un tipo de tabaco en particular en uno de un conjunto predefinido de categorías de sabor para ese tipo de tabaco. El método comprende adquirir datos de espectrometría de masas de la muestra de tabaco; identificar a partir de los datos de espectrometría de masas adquiridos una pluralidad de componentes químicos y sus respectivos niveles de contenido dentro de la muestra de tabaco; y la asignación de la muestra de tabaco a uno de los conjuntos predefinidos de categorías de sabor para ese tipo de tabaco en función de la pluralidad de componentes químicos y sus respectivos niveles de contenido identificados dentro de la muestra de tabaco, utilizando un modelo estadístico de regresión multivariante que representa una relación entre los componentes químicos. y las categorías de sabor.
