Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un recolector o colector de luz que recolecta radiación solar de una ubicación no sombreada adyacente a una planta en crecimiento. El recolector de luz puede ser ya sea de imágenes (por ejemplo, reflectores parabólicos) o sin imágenes (por ejemplo, concentrador parabólico compuesto). La radiación solar concentrada se proyecta en un transmisor de luz que conduce la luz a través del dosel exterior de la planta y en el dosel interior a un difusor que se dispersa y vuelve a irradiar la luz en el dosel interior. La luz difusa transforma una zona no productiva potencialmente sin hojas de la planta en una zona productiva de modo que se puede producir más fruto por volumen de la superficie de tierra. El sistema puede prevenir la transmisión de luz infrarroja en el dosel interior, de modo que la zona de dosel interior no se calienta y se reduce la cantidad de agua perdida por transpiración. El sistema también puede modificar otros componentes espectrales para afectar el desarrollo de la planta y controlar las plagas y enfermedades.
