The present invention provides an electric vehicle comprising a chassis; an electric motor as prime mover; and an electric battery module for powering the electric motor comprising at least one battery and a protective frame structure for positioning the at least one battery and being fixed in a rearmost portion of the chassis wherein; at least one battery is connected to at least said electric motor through a terminal block using a flexible electric connections with the terminal block being located outside a volume defined by the protective frame structure..
