Abstract
Se proporcionan métodos para fertilizar el suelo y para incrementar el rendimiento de los cultivos, el crecimiento de las plantas y la tasa de germinación de las semillas con melanina o un precursor, derivado o análogo de melanina; los métodos descritos en la presente requieren agua, melanina o un precursor, derivado o análogo de melanina, y una fuente de energía electromagnética, como energía de luz visible o invisible, para catalizar la electrólisis del agua; la electrólisis del agua provoca la liberación de hidrógeno diatómico en el suelo, lo que resulta en la fertilización del suelo; también se proporcionan composiciones de suelo fertilizado.
