Abstract

Un proceso continuo para la preparación de óxido de propileno, que comprende una etapa inicial y etapa de ejecución normal, en donde la etapa de ejecución normal comprende (i) proporcionar de modo continuo una corriente de alimentación líquida que comprende propeno, peróxido de hidrógeno, acetonitrilo, una sal de formiato, agua y opcionalmente propano, en donde en la corriente de alimentación líquida, la cantidad molar de la sal de formiato respecto de la cantidad molar de peróxido de hidrógeno en un punto de tiempo dado durante la etapa de ejecución normal es aN(Fo/H2O2); (ii) pasar de modo continuo la corriente de alimentación líquida proporcionada en (i) en una zona de epoxidación que comprende un catalizador que comprende una zeolita de titanio que tiene una estructura de tipo MWW y someter la corriente de alimentación líquida a condiciones de reacción de epoxidación en la zona de epoxidación, para obtener así una mezcla de reacción que comprende óxido de propileno, acetonitrilo, agua, la sal de formiato, opcionalmente propeno y opcionalmente propano; (iii) remover de modo continuo una corriente de efluente de la zona de epoxidación, la corriente de efluente que comprende óxido de propileno, acetonitrilo, agua, al menos una porción de la sal de formiato, opcionalmente propeno y opcionalmente propano; en donde la etapa de ejecución normal se caracteriza por una tasa promedio de cambio de aN(Fo/H2O2) de menos de 0 h-1.
