Abstract
En la presente descripción se describe una planta mutante o parte de esta que tiene reducida al menos parcialmente la expresión o la actividad de al menos dos ATPasas de metales pesados (HMA), dichas dos HMA comprenden, consisten o consisten esencialmente en: (i) polipéptidos que tienen al menos 65 % de identidad de secuencia con la sec. con núm. de ident.: 1 y la sec. con núm. de ident.: 2; (ii) polinucleótidos que codifican los polipéptidos que se exponen en (i); o (iii) polinucleótidos que tienen al menos 65 % de identidad de secuencia con la sec. con núm. de ident.: 3 y la sec. con núm. de ident.: 4 que codifican las HMA; en donde la expresión o la actividad de una de las HMA que se exponen en (i) o (ii) o (iii) se reduce parcialmente o se pierde y la expresión o la actividad de una de las HMA que se exponen en (i) o (ii) o (iii) se pierde en comparación con una planta control; y en donde la planta mutante o parte de esta exhibe al menos una reducción de 27 %, en comparación con la planta control, en la acumulación de cadmio en la hoja cuando la planta mutante se cultiva en el campo en presencia de cadmio de origen natural o no natural.
