Abstract

Se describe una alfombra automotriz que tiene una estructura de fieltro de aguja que puede ser baja en peso pero que tiene buena resistencia a la abrasión. De acuerdo con modalidades de la presente invención, la alfombra automotriz comprende al menos una capa frontal o de revestimiento perforada con aguja como capa superior hecha de fibras cortadas, donde las fibras cortadas comprenden al menos 50 % en peso de fibras multilobulares sólidas y al menos una unión parcial. Se describe un proceso para fabricar esta alfombra automotriz que comprende los pasos de: transportar una red de carda fibrosa a una máquina de entrecruzamiento y entrecruzar la red de carda en un batanado de material, donde la distancia de desplazamiento del dispositivo de entrecruzamiento de tela no tejida multilobular es menor de 20 % y mayor de 10 % que el ancho final de la capa frontal o de revestimiento perforada con aguja.
