Abstract
Se describe un método profiláctico para prevenir la otitis media o la disfunción del tubo de Eustaquio, o para reducir la severidad de los síntomas de la misma, disminuyendo el riesgo de otitis media futura, con o sin la infección del oído, y los efectos asociados, que incluyen la pérdida aguda o permanente de la audición, problemas en el habla y en el equilibrio, problemas en la conducta y problemas del sueño provocados por la otitis media aguda, intermitente en episodios, recurrente o crónica, y la necesidad para intervenciones quirúrgicas que involucran la miringotomía tales como los tubos de oído para los derrames crónicos del oído medio, o la perforación de la membrana timpánica para el drenado agudo del derrame proveniente del oído medio y la ventilación del oído medio, a través de la administración nasal del tensioactivo al o a los tubos de Eustaquio.
