Abstract
Se describe método y aparato de codificación de vídeo que utiliza información de movimiento derivada de decodificador con base en comparación bilateral o comparación de plantillas. De acuerdo con un método, se señaliza un índice de vector de movimiento (MV) inicial en un flujo de bits de vídeo en un lado de codificador o se determina del flujo de bits de vídeo en un lado de decodificador. Un MV seleccionado entones se deriva utilizando comparación bilateral, comparación de plantillas o ambas para refinar un MV inicial asociado con el índice MV inicial. En otro método, cuando ambos MV para la lista 0 y la lista 1 existen en igualación de plantillas, se puede utilizar el MV con costo más pequeño entre los dos MV para comparación de plantillas de uni-predicción si el costo es menor que la igualación de plantillas de bi-predicción.
