Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un marcador para identificar una planta de pepino que muestra un fenotipo de crecimiento compacto, caracterizado por una longitud de entrenudo más corta y/o un área de la hoja más pequeña. El marcador comprende una mutación en el gen Cullin1, proporcionando por esto plantas de pepino con una longitud de entrenudo más corta y/o un área de la hoja más pequeña cuando se comparan con las plantas de pepino sin la mutación en el gen Cullin1. Una planta que muestra el fenotipo de crecimiento compacto resultante es en particular adecuada para el cultivo en alambre alto. Además, la invención también se refiere al uso de un gen Cullin1 modificado de pepino o una parte del mismo para identificar una planta de pepino que muestra una longitud de entrenudo más corta y/o un área de la hoja más pequeña.
