Abstract

Un concreto liviano compuesto de una mezcla de cemento, agregado de baja densidad, agua, tensioactivos, resinas y espumas producidos por el mezclador o por inyección de agua, caracterizado en que la densidad final está dentro de un rango de entre 250 kg/m3 y hasta 1200 kg/m3, el agregado de baja densidad es piedra pómez, material volcánico o arcilla cocida; además, para una densidad de entre 300 kg/m3 hasta 1100 kg/m3, ofrece una resistencia a la compresión de entre 0.9 y 14.3 MPa. El concreto liviano es ideal para uso en paneles para pisos, techos y paredes, es compatible con todo tipo de acabado, causa niveles mínimos de residuos en el sitio, es fácil tanto para transporte, y para ensamblar en elementos y estructuras, y tiene buena resistencia al fuego, baja conductividad térmica, impermeabilidad e insonorización.
