Abstract
Se describen un método y un aparato para la localización de vehículos basada en nodos de red de área local inalámbrica. Un vehículo descrito de ejemplo incluye un controlador de red inalámbrica y un rastreador de ubicación. Como respuesta a la pérdida de recepción de señales GPS, el rastreador de ubicación busca nodos de red inalámbrica a través del controlador de red inalámbrica y cuando tiene almacenadas en la memoria segundas ubicaciones de los nodos de la red inalámbrica, determina una ubicación actual del vehículo con base en una técnica de filtración de partículas y medidas de la intensidad de la señal recibida de los nodos de red inalámbrica.
