Abstract
La invención se refiere a la producción de pigmentos compuestos que contienen hidróxido de aluminio y su uso para mejorar la eficiencia de la dispersión de luz de pigmento en recubrimientos, plásticos, papel y laminados. Las partículas de pigmento compuesto contienen partículas de pigmento, en particular dióxido de titanio e hidróxido de aluminio precipitado. En una modalidad de la invención, el pigmento compuesto contiene adicionalmente por lo menos otro extensor inorgánico y/o por lo menos un extensor orgánico, preferiblemente seleccionado del grupo que comprende dolomita, huntita, magnesita e hidromagnesita. Las partículas de pigmento compuesto de acuerdo con la invención son fabricadas por precipitación in situ de hidróxido de aluminio en una suspensión acuosa de partículas de pigmento. El uso de las partículas de pigmento compuesto de acuerdo con la invención, a base de dióxido de titanio, permite ahorros de pigmento con o sin únicamente pequeñas pérdidas de propiedades visuales, dependiendo de la combinación seleccionada. Alternativamente, también pueden lograrse mejores valores con el mismo contenido de pigmento. En particular, una parte de la cuota de dióxido de titanio total en el sistema de usuario puede reemplazarse por las partículas de pigmento compuesto de acuerdo con la invención.
