Abstract

Un procedimiento dirigido a la producción de ácido acético que comprende proporcionar una corriente de alimentación que tiene una primera densidad que comprende agua, ácido acético, acetato de metilo, al menos un PRC y más de aproximadamente 30% en peso de yoduro de metilo a una columna de destilación que comprende una zona de destilación y una zona de sumidero inferior; y destilar la corriente de alimentación a una presión y a una temperatura suficientes para producir una corriente de cabeza que tiene una segunda densidad y que comprende más de aproximadamente 40% en peso de yoduro de metilo y al menos un PRC; en donde un porcentaje de disminución entre la primera densidad y la segunda densidad es del 20% al 35%.
