Abstract
La presente invención relaciona a un procedimiento para preparar un precursor de estatina, procedimiento que comprende una primera etapa de reacción, en donde un hidroxi-pirimidina-carbonitrilo se hace reaccionar con un haluro de sulfonilo orgánico para formar el sulfonato-pirimidina-carbonitrilo; una segunda etapa de reacción, en donde el sulfonato-pirimidina-carbonitrilo se hace reaccionar con N-metilmetanosulfonamida para formar una pirimidinil-sulfonamida; y opcionalmente una tercera etapa de reacción, en donde la pirimidinil-sulfonamida se hace reaccionar con un agente reductor. Todas las etapas son realizadas en tolueno como el disolvente principal.
