Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una solución acuosa de alcanolamina que demuestra baja volatilidad que comprende 2-dimetilamino-2-hidroximetil-1,3-propanodiol útil para eliminar gases ácidos de mezclas gaseosas. La solución acuosa de alcanolamina puede comprender además uno o más de un compuesto ácido o formador de ácido, otro compuesto amino, un activador, un solvente físico, o uno o más compuestos utilizados en las prácticas de tratamiento de gas-líquido. Además, la presente invención se refiere a un proceso para eliminar gases ácidos de una mezcla gaseosa, preferiblemente sulfuro de hidrógeno, que comprende la etapa de poner en contacto la mezcla gaseosa con la solución acuosa de alcanolamina. Ejemplos de las mezclas gaseosas incluyen gas natural, gas de síntesis, gas de cola y gas de refinería.
