Abstract

Proporcionar un método para producir un ácido graso de cadena media que usa ß-cetoacil-ACP sintasa, o un lípido que tiene el ácido graso como un constituyente de este, y también proporcionar un gen, una proteína y un transformante usado en el método. Un método para producir un ácido graso de cadena media o un lípido que tiene el ácido graso como un constituyente de este, el método comprende obtener un transformante al introducir a un hospedero, un gen que codifica la siguiente proteína (A) o (B), y extraer un ácido graso de cadena media o un lípido que tiene el ácido graso como un constituyente de este a partir del transformante obtenido.
