Abstract
Esta invención se refiere a procesos para preparar resinas novolak y usando las mismas resinas de reforzamiento. Un proceso comprende hacer reaccionar uno o más alquilfenoles con un aldehído en la presencia de una base para formar una resina resol, en donde para cada mol del alquilfenol al menos 1.5 mol de aldehído se hacen reaccionar; y hacer reaccionar la resina resol con uno o más compuestos fenólicos en la presencia de un catalizador ácido para formar una resina novolac, en donde para cada mol del alquilfenol al menos 1.5 mol de los compuestos fenólicos se hacen reaccionar. Otro proceso comprende hacer reaccionar uno o más alquilfenoles con un aldehído en la presencia de una base para formar una resina resol, y hacer reaccionar la resina resol con uno o más compuestos fenólicos a una temperatura elevada para formar una resina novolac.
