Abstract
Se proporciona una composición oleosa para filtro y un método para eliminar del aire los contaminantes moleculares transportados por el aire. La composición incluye una primera porción que comprende aceite parafínico por volumen de la composición, una segunda porción que comprende polialfaolefina (PAO) por volumen de la composición y una tercera porción que comprende tinte rojo por volumen de la composición. La aplicación de la composición oleosa para filtro a un material de algodón para filtro de aire produce adherencia a través de todo el material del filtro de aire mejorando así la filtración del aire que pasa a través del filtro. La composición es en general sustancialmente no reactiva, tiene una excelente estabilidad a la oxidación, posee buena estabilidad térmica y retiene una viscosidad adecuada a las temperaturas normales de operación de un motor de automóvil. En una modalidad, la composición comprende 96.74% de aceite parafínico por volumen, 3.20% de polialfaolefina (PAO) por volumen, y 0.06% de tinte rojo por volumen. La viscosidad de la composición a 100 grados C varía sustancialmente entre 7.2 y 7.6 centistokes (cSTs).
