Abstract

A coaxial cable connector 220 includes an outer barrel 260 having a longitudinal axis H, the outer barrel formed with an inner compression band 246. A coaxial fitting 225 is mounted at a front end 223 of the outer barrel 260 for coupling to an electrical device, and a coaxial compression collar 226 is applied to the outer barrel 260. An outer compression band 245 formed in the compression collar 226 moves between an uncompressed condition and a compressed condition in response to axial compression of the coaxial cable connector 220. Movement of the outer compression band 245 from the uncompressed condition to the compressed condition shapes the inner compression band 246 into a pawl 360 which allows introduction of a cable 21 into the connector 220 and then prevents removal of the cable 21 from the connector 220.
