Abstract
Una estructura de edificio que tiene una o más plantas y que incluye al menos dos columnas que soportan una primera de las plantas; en donde al menos una de las columnas esta soportada por al menos un tirante que tiene una primera porción y una segunda porción. El al menos un tirante tiene una primera configuración en la que la primera porción es libremente móvil con respecto a la segunda porción de tal manera que se forma un hueco en el tirante previniendo la transmisión de fuerza axialmente a lo largo del tirante, y una segunda configuración en la que el hueco es cerrado por la primera porción y la segunda porción está en contacto para permitir la transmisión de fuerzas axialmente a lo largo del tirante. La segunda configuración se produce cuando al menos una columna se somete a un nivel de deformación suficiente para forzar el hueco a que se cierre.
