Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un coalescente que consiste esencialmente de un residuo de un proceso para formar propilenglicol fenil éter, el coalescente consiste esencialmente de 65%-75% en peso, con base en el peso del residuo, de dipropilenglicol fenil éter, 8%-10% en peso, con base en el peso del coalescente, de monopropilenglicol fenil éter, 4%-6% en peso, con base en el peso del coalescente, de tripropilenglicol fenil éter, y 0.1%-10% en peso, con base en el peso del coalescente, de alcalinidad (reportada como NaOH). También se proporciona un método para formar ciertas dispersiones poliméricas acuosas coalescidas de bajo VOC, de bajo costo que incluyen, como unidades copolimerizadas, desde 70% a 100% en peso, con base en el peso de sólidos de la dispersión polimérica acuosa, de monómero de acetato de vinilo y una composición de revestimiento acuosa que incluye la dispersión polimérica acuosa coalescida.
