Abstract

La invención se refiere a un nuevo diseño de preforma de PET que permite una distribución más precisa del material en el fondo de la botella y evita el desperdicio de material alrededor del punto de inyección. El espesor BWTmin de la pared en el centro de la entrada o punta (3) (punto de inyección) se reduce a un mínimo para evitar el desperdicio de material alrededor del punto de inyección cunado se sopla la preforma. Esto es particularmente importante para aplicaciones de refrescos carbonatados puesto que la cantidad reducida de material amorfo en el centro de la entrada (3) ayuda a reducir el riesgo de agrietamiento por estrés en la base de la botella. Adicionalmente, un peldaño (4) que tiene un espesor WTmax en el espesor de pared corporal, en la región de la periferia de la base con WTmax > WT, permite que esté disponible suficiente material para el soplado apropiado del fondo de la botella haciendo más estable a la botella.
