Abstract
La invención se refiere a un dispositivo de inmersión para medir la temperatura con una fibra óptica, preferiblemente una fibra óptica recubierta con metal en un recipiente metalúrgico. Un dispositivo de inmersión de acuerdo con la presente invención comprende un canal de alimentación y medios de alimentación para alimentar una fibra óptica hacia el interior de un tubo de guía desechable y para alimentar el tubo de guía desechable junto con la fibra óptica hacia un fundido. El dispositivo de inmersión comprende medios de control para monitorear la posición de un extremo de la fibra con relación a un extremo del tubo de guía. Se encontró que la posición relativa determina la calidad de una medición de temperatura. Consecuentemente, monitorear la posición relativa hace posible determinar la calidad de una medición de temperatura y así mejorar las mediciones de temperatura.
