Abstract

Un sistema y método para crear medios útiles enriquecidos con carbono en un reactor el cual asimilará el carbono en una biomasa de algas, requiere medir una concentración de carbono respectiva de los medios, C (medido), a medida que entra y sale del reactor. De manera operacional, se preestablecen los valores de concentración de carbono deseados, C (establecido), y se proporcionan junto con valores obtenidos para C (medido) como entrada a un controlador del sistema. Diferencias respectivas entre C (medido) y C (establecido) en las lumbreras de entrada y de salida del reactor se determinan por el controlador y se utilizan para controlar una tasa de flujo de fluido volumétrico de los medios a través del reactor. Específicamente, el controlador establece una tasa de flujo de fluido volumétrico de los medios a medida que pasa a través de un absorbedor donde los medios se enriquecen con carbono para interacción con gases de combustión a partir de una fuente externa (por ejemplo, una planta de energía).
