Abstract

Hay dos representaciones para las señales ambisónicas de orden superior denominadas HOA (Higher Order Ambisonics): dominio espacial y dominio de coeficiente. La invención genera, a partir de una representación de dominio de coeficiente, una representación de dominio mixto espacial/coeficiente, en donde el número de dichas señales HOA puede ser variable. Un vector de señales de dominio de coeficiente se separa en un vector de señales de dominio de coeficiente que tiene un número constante de coeficientes HOA y un vector de señales de dominio de coeficiente que tiene un número variable de coeficientes HOA. El vector de coeficientes HOA de número constante se transforma en un vector de señal de dominio espacial correspondiente. Con objeto de facilitar la codificación de alta calidad, sin crear discontinuidades de señales el vector de coeficientes HOA de número variable de señales de dominio de coeficiente se normaliza adaptablemente y se multiplexa con el vector de señales de dominio espacial.
