Abstract
La presente invención es un proceso novedoso mediante el cual se obtienen compuestos poliméricos espumados a base de poliolefinas y polvo de fibra de agave modificado superficialmente por plasma. Este proceso consta de dos etapas: en la primera denominada a) Modificar polvo de fibra de agave, el polvo de fibra se trata con plasma de etileno para depositar un recubrimiento sobre su superficie el cual cambia el carácter químico del polvo de hidrófilo e hidrófobo, y de esta manera se incrementa la compatibilidad entre el polímero y el polvo de fibras naturales. Además, este recubrimiento evita que el polvo de fibras naturales absorba agua. En la segunda etapa b) Generar un material espumado, se utiliza el polvo de fibra de agave modificado en la etapa a) y se mezcla con la poliolefina y un agente químico espumante, los cuales dan origen al material polimérico espumado con carga orgánica. La presente invención está dirigida a la industria de la transformación de los polímeros, y puede ser aplicada en la fabricación de componentes en la industria automotriz, aeroespacial, construcción, entre otras.The present invention is a novel process whereby foamed polymeric compounds based on polyolefins and plasma-modified agave fiber powder are obtained.
