Abstract

Esta invención se relaciona a un nuevo proceso para la síntesis de 5-hidroximetilfurfural (HMF) a partir de sacáridos. En particular esta invención se relaciona a un nuevo proceso para la deshidratación de monosacáridos que tienen 6 átomos de carbono (hexosas), disacáridos, oligosacáridos y polisacáridos que se derivan de los mismos para producir 5-hidroximetilfurfural (HMF) altamente puro en alto rendimiento.
