Abstract
La invención provee un método para la preparación de un silicato amorfo de por lo menos un metal del Grupo 4 de la Tabla Periódica de Elementos con un volumen de poro total de por lo menos 0.3 ml/g. El método de preparación involucra el uso de condiciones de formación de poros, que pueden ser el uso de un formador de poros y opcionalmente un aumento de la temperatura de precipitación, por ejemplo por lo menos 60°C. El silicato de la invención es especialmente adecuado en reacciones catalíticas tales como esterificaciones, adiciones de Michael, transesterificaciones, (ep) oxidaciones, hidroxilaciones, o en adsorbencia de moléculas inorgánicas y orgánicas pequeñas, por ejemplo CO2 o compuestos aromáticos.
