Abstract
The present invention contemplates the development and application of a multi- species inoculant formulation consisting of the following beneficial bacterial species: (1) Microbacterium sp. UAPS01200 (RhPf3); (2) Microbacterium sp. UAPS01203 (4MePi8) and (3) Pseudomonas putida KT2440; to improve growth of plants in semi-desert zones such as corn and tomato, wherein: the beneficial bacterial species Microbacterium sp. UAPS01200 (RhPf3) making up the multi- species inoculant EMMIM-2 comes from the rhizosphere of Pseudomitrocereus fulviceps; the beneficial bacterial species Pseudomonas putida KT2440 making up the multi-species inoculant EMMIM-2 comes from the tomato rhizosphere; and the beneficial bacterial species Microbacterium sp. UAPS01200 (4MePi8) making up the multi-species inoculant EMMIM-2 comes from the epiphyte zone of corn; and wherein: said beneficial species strains can co-exist without harming each other, despite their antagonism towards other bacteria; and the three beneficial bacterial specimens are dry-resistant and altogether improve growth of plants in semi-desert and of plants such as corn and tomato under low water availability conditions.
