Abstract
Nuevas cepas de Streptomyces microflavus y métodos de uso de las mismas para controlar enfermedades o plagas en una planta. La invención también se relaciona con un caldo de fermentación obtenido mediante cultivo de una cepa de Streptomyces productora de gougerotina, en donde el caldo de fermentación contiene por lo menos 1 g/l aproximadamente de gougerotina y con un método para producir un caldo de fermentación de una cepa de Streptomyces productora de gougerotina, en donde el caldo de fermentación contiene por lo menos aproximadamente 1 g/l de gougerotina, donde dicho método comprende cultivar la cepa de Streptomyces en un medio de cultivo que contiene una fuente de carbono digerible y una fuente de nitrógeno digerible bajo condiciones aeróbicas, donde el medio de cultivo contiene aminoácidos a una concentración eficaz para obtener una concentración de gougerotina de por lo menos 1 g/l. La presente divulgación también se relaciona con la donación molecular de una agrupación de genes de la biosíntesis de gougerotina de Streptomyces microflavus, y con la identificación de genes individuales in la agrupación de genes, así como las proteínas codificadas por los mismos. Hay una agrupación de genes de gougerotina que comprende 13 marcos de lectura abiertos (ORF) que se encuentra en un locus genético de Streptomyces microflavus.
