Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para tratar biomasa. La biomasa es tratada con un agente de hinchamiento de biomas adentro del recipiente para hinchar o romper al menos una porción de la biomasa. Una porción del agente de hinchamiento es removida de un primer extremo del recipiente después del tratamiento. Entonces el vapor es introducido en un segundo extremo del recipiente diferente del primer extremo para remover además el agente de hinchamiento a partir del recipiente en una manera tal que el agente de hinchamiento sale del recipiente a un contenido de agua relativamente bajo.
