Abstract
Se proveen métodos y composiciones para mejorar la recuperación de petróleo, en donde a la población microbiana autóctona de un depósito de petróleo se suministra una composición que contiene glutamato y un aceptor de electrones. El efecto de la fuente de carbono del glutamato es promover el biotaponamiento de un ambiente permeable mediante el uso de microorganismos endémicos. El biotaponamiento en un depósito de petróleo mejorará la eficacia de barrido que puede conducir, de esta manera, a una recuperación mejorada secundaria de petróleo.
