Abstract
Un sello anular tiene características de baja fuga y características de baja fricción para reducir la pérdida de unidad o conducción de la transmisión de un automóvil, contribuyendo por lo tanto a mejorar el consumo de combustible del automóvil. Un sello anular el cual es montado en una ranura del eje formada en la superficie periférica externa de un eje tiene cavidades formadas en el sello anular. Las cavidades están dispuestas sobre el lado periférico interno de al menos una superficie lateral de contacto del sello anular para quedar separadas entre sí en la dirección circunferencial. Cada una de las cavidades tiene, formadas sobre el lado periférico interno de las mismas, paredes internas y un orificio de introducción de aceite el cual se abre hacia la superficie periférica interna de la cavidad. Esas paredes internas pueden ser provistas a ambos extremos de cada de las cavidades en la dirección circunferencial, o una de esas paredes internas puede ser provista únicamente en el lado posterior de la cavidad en la dirección rotacional.
