Abstract
Un dispositivo de mitigación de fuga de bomba incluye uno o más brazos de sujeción sobre una superficie externa de una bomba que puede ser dirigida a través de un elemento de desviación para asentarse contra un eje de la bomba para sellado o reducir el flujo de fluido a través de una avería de la bomba. El elemento de desviación se acopla solamente -a temperaturas de umbral, tales como aquellas asociadas con la falla de orificio de avería cuando se necesita de sellado adicional. Los brazos de sujeción de cualquier número y forma pueden ser utilizados para lograr el sello deseado y se basan en la geometría de la bomba. Se pueden utilizar una superficie de sellado y/o mecanismo de mantenimiento con el dispositivo de mitigación de fuga para mejorar el flujo de fluido a través de un escenario pasajero de falla de bomba. Se instalan dispositivos de mitigación de fuga de bomba en el exterior de una variedad de diferentes tipos cíe bomba y de esta manera se pueden instalar, accionar, manipular, desacoplar, y/ remover sin tener que destruir o desensamblar la bomba.
