Abstract

La presente invención proporciona una broca, barrena o cabeza de perforación (1), y un método para su fabricación, que es conveniente para el uso dentro de un proceso de perforación de tubería de revestimiento. El material duro puede comprender diamante policristalino (PDC = polycrystalline diamond), carburo de tungsteno o nitruro de boro cúbico. En una modalidad, el cuerpo monolítico comprende una corona (6) y una pluralidad de miembros de corte (5). El material duro se puede montar directamente en la corona o, en forma alterna, en los miembros de corte (5). La broca descrita (1) facilita perforar las formaciones de roca duras mientras que todavía es capaz de ser perforado por una broca estándar de campo de petróleo.
