Abstract
Una composición para soldar o broncesoldar de aluminio que comprende silicio (Si) y magnesio (Mg) junto con aluminio en una aleación adecuada para usar en soldadura y broncesoldadura. El contenido de Si puede variar entre aproximadamente 4.7 y 10.9 % en peso, y el contenido de Mg puede variar entre aproximadamente 0.15 % en peso y 0.50 % en peso. La aleación se adecua muy bien a las operaciones en la que poca o ninguna dilución del metal de base afecta el contenido de Si o Mg. El contenido de Si promueve la fluidez y evita las concentraciones de tensión y ruptura. El contenido de Mg proporciona resistencia mejorada. Las uniones resultantes pueden tener una resistencia al menos igual que aquella del metal de base con poca o ninguna dilución (p.ej., extracción de Mg). Las uniones pueden tratarse con calor y envejecerse artificialmente o naturalmente.
