La invención provee un proceso para producir espumas de poliuretano rígidas al hacer reaccionar a) poliisocianatos con b) compuestos teniendo por lo menos dos átomos de hidrógeno reactivos con isocianatos en presencia de c) agentes sopladores, caracterizado porque el componente b) comprende aceite de ricino bi), y porque la reacción se realiza en presencia de un compuesto d) seleccionado a partir del grupo que consiste de carbonatos de alquileno, carbóxamidas y pirrolidonas.
