Abstract
Se presenta un método para codificar una señal de domino de tiempo. Un dispositivo transforma la seña de dominio de tiempo en una señal de dominio de frecuencia incluyendo una secuencia de bloques de muestras en donde cada bloque incluye un coeficiente para cada una de múltiples frecuencias. Los coeficientes de cada bloque están agrupados en bandas de frecuencia. Para cada banda de frecuencia de cada bloque se estima un factor de escala para la banda y la energía de la banda apara el bloque se compara con la energía de la banda de un bloque de muestras adyacente. En donde los bloques pueden ser adyacentes entre sí en cualquiera o ambos de un sentido entre canales y temporal. Si la proporción de la energía de banda ara el primer bloque a la energía de banda para el bloque adyacente es menor que algún valor, el factor de escala de la banda para el primer bloque aumenta. Los coeficientes de la banda para cada bloque se cuantifican en base al factor de escala resultante. La señal de audio codificada se genera en base a los coeficientes cuantificados y los factores de escala.
