Abstract

Se describe un dispositivo de visualización de cristal líquido con una luz posterior (fuente de luz) de LED. En el dispositivo de LCD, la iluminancia de la calidad de imagen es controlada a través de la combinación de la modulación del ancho de impulso (PWM) y el control de corriente, reduciendo el consumo de energía eléctrica asociado con el encendido de un LED. En la luz posterior de LED (10), la iluminancia de emisión de luz de LED es controlada por ambas PWM, lo cual modifica un ciclo de trabajo que indica el tiempo de iluminación por ciclo de un impulso, lo cual a su vez enciende/apaga el LED, y también por control de corriente, el cual selecciona el valor de la corriente suministrada al LED desde una pluralidad de valores fijos. Al menos una de la pluralidad de valores fijos es un valor de corriente predeterminado al cual el ciclo de trabajo alcanza un valor máximo al valor de luminancia máximo usado en un modo de calidad de imagen específica de los modos de calidad de imagen establecidos en el dispositivo de visualización de cristal líquido (1). En el modo de calidad de imagen especificado anteriormente, el valor de iluminancia más grande usado es más pequeño que al menos el valor de iluminancia más grande usado en los otros modos de calidad de imagen especificados.
