Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método y a un dispositivo para guiar y orientar una vena (5) en una instalación de colada continua para secciones redondas de gran tamaño hechas de acero o de un material similar. Con el fin de evitar la formación de fisuras al orientar la vena, la superficie (15) exterior de la vena se calienta desde arriba y desde abajo dentro del tramo de orientación. Para este propósito, en la sección de descarga del tramo de orientación se disponen quemadores (10, 17) porosos cuyos gases de escape calientes fluyen alrededor de toda la periferia de la superficie (15) exterior de la vena.
