Abstract
Se describe un aparato de cambio de modos para una herramienta de eliminación de coque, una herramienta de eliminación de coque y método para operar el mismo. El aparato incluye características para hacerlo sensible de manera giratoria y translacional a cambios en la presión de un fluido de eliminación de coque de tal manera que el aparato coopere con la herramienta y el fluido de eliminación de coque en una primera condición operativa para establecer un modo de perforación con una o más de las boquillas de perforación de la herramienta, y en una segunda condición operativa para establecer un modo de corte con una o más de las boquillas de corte de la herramienta. En una modalidad, el aparato incluye uno o más conjuntos de sellos en tándem dispuestos a lo largo de una interfase componente dentro del aparato o entre el aparato y la herramienta para ayudar a aislar de manera redundante componentes sensibles a crisis dentro del aparato del fluido de eliminación de coque presurizado. En otra modalidad, el aparato incluye un resorte de gas para contrarrestar las fuerzas impuestas por el fluido de eliminación de coque presurizado. En otra modalidad, el aparato incluye una conexión especial manual.
