Abstract

Se describe un proceso en el que una alimentación de olefinas ligeras para un proceso de utilización de olefinas se somete a un lavado con agua para eliminar contaminantes solubles en agua después de lo cual el agua se separa de la olefina por separación por coalescencia a una temperatura baja, por lo regular por debajo de 40°C. La técnica de separación por coalescencia es eficaz para separar las olefinas del agua con sus contaminantes disueltos. Si se desea, puede llevarse a cabo un lavado suplementario adicionando más agua a la mezcla alimentación/agua después del paso de lavado inicial pero antes del coalescedor con el fin de retirar contaminantes adicionales.
