Abstract

Un aparato para extraer lodo a partir de aguas residuales mientras retiene sólidos orgánicos en suspensión; el aparato incluye una cámara de sedimentación de lodo, una cámara de almacenamiento de lodo posicionada por debajo de la cámara de sedimentación, y un asta vertical giratoria posicionada centralmente en la cámara de sedimentación; una hélice montada giratoriamente alrededor del asta; un tabique cónico que se extiende transversalmente a través de una sección intermedia de la cámara de sedimentación; las aguas residuales llegan a la parte inferior de la cámara de sedimentación debajo del tabique cónico, y el líquido separado del lodo escapa desde la parte superior de la cámara de sedimentación, arriba del tabique cónico; el tabique presenta un borde periférico montado integralmente de una forma hermética a los fluidos en la pared periférica de la cámara de sedimentación, y define una abertura anular central entre el asta y el tabique para proporcionar un flujo ascendente de líquido desde el recinto inferior hasta el recinto superior; la hélice permite un primer flujo de fluido giratorio y sostenido de las aguas residuales desde el recinto inferior, induciendo un segundo flujo de fluido de líquido ascendente desde el recinto inferior, a través de la abertura anular del tabique y dentro del recinto superior, y permite un tercer flujo de fluido sostenido y giratorio de las aguas residuales dentro del recinto superior para el escape tangencial o radial desde la misma, en donde se establece un gradiente de velocidad de flujo de fluido entre el tercer flujo de fluido y el primer flujo de fluido.
