Abstract

La presente invenci?n es una composici?n de polietileno, un m?todo para producir la misma, fibras elaboradas de la misma y un m?todo para elaborar la misma. La composici?n de polietileno de acuerdo con la presente invenci?n comprende: (a) menos o igual al 100 % en peso de las unidades derivadas de etileno; y (b) menos del 20 % en peso de las unidades derivadas de uno o m?s comon?meros de a-olefina. La composici?n de polietileno de acuerdo con la presente invenci?n tiene una densidad dentro del rango de 0.920 a 0.970 g/cm3, una distribuci?n de peso molecular (Mw/Mn) dentro del rango de 1.70 a 3.5, un ?ndice de fusi?n (I2) dentro del rango de 0.2 a 1000 g/10 minutos, una distribuci?n de peso molecular (Mz/Mw) dentro de un rango menor a 2.5, una insaturaci?n de vinilo menor a 0.1 vinilos por mil ?tomos de carbono presentes en la estructura de la composici?n. El proceso para producir la composici?n de polietileno de la presente invenci?n comprende los pasos de: (1) (co)polimerizar el etileno y opcionalmente uno o m?s comon?meros de a-olefina en la presencia de un catalizador de metaloceno a base de hafnio a trav?s de un proceso de (co)polimerizaci?n de fase de gas en un reactor de etapa simple; y (2) producir de esta forma la composici?n de polietileno que tiene una densidad dentro del rango de 0.920 a 0.970 g/cm3, una distribuci?n de peso molecular (Mw/Mn) dentro del rango de 1.70 a 3.5, un ?ndice de fusi?n (I2) dentro del rango de 0.2 a 1000 g/10 minutos, una distribuci?n de peso molecular (Mz/Mw) dentro de un rango menor a 2.5, una insaturaci?n de vinilo menor a 0.1 vinilos por mil ?tomos de carbono presentes en la estructura de la composici?n.
