Abstract
Se proporcionan métodos y composiciones para modular el desarrollo de la planta. Se proporcionan secuencias de polinucleótido que codifican polipéptidos ZmSNAC, como son las secuencias de aminoácidos de los polipéptidos codificados. Las secuencias pueden ser utilizadas en una variedad de métodos incluyendo la modulación del desarrollo de la raíz, modulación del desarrollo floral, modulación del desarrollo de la hoja y/o del retoño, modulación de la senescencia, modulación del tamaño y/o peso de la semilla, y modulación de la tolerancia de las plantas al estrés abiótico. También se proporcionan plantas, células de plantas, tejidos y semillas transformadas. También se proporciona un promotor ZmSNAC1 inducible por estrés.
