Abstract

La presente invención proporciona procedimientos para mejorar los rasgos del animal deseables incluyendo buen estado físico y productividad mejorados en animales de leche; también se proporcionan procedimientos para determinar un genotipo de animal de leche con respecto a múltiples marcadores asociados con buen estado físico y/o productividad; la invención también proporciona procedimientos para seleccionar o destinar animales para usos predeterminados, tales como modalidad de pruebas de progenie o cría de rebaños núcleo, para escoger animales potenciales parentales para cría, y para producir animales de progenie mejorados; cada uno de los procedimientos anteriores puede mejorarse adicionalmente por la incorporación de efectos de interacción entre SNP múltiples.
