Abstract
Se describe un método para descodificar una señal de audio. La presente invención incluye las etapas de recibir la señal de audio que tiene una pluralidad de señales de canal que incluyen una señal de componente ambiental y una señal de componente de origen, extraer la señal de componente ambiental y la señal de componente de origen de cada uno de los canales basándose en una correlación entre las señales de canal, modificar la señal de componente ambiental utilizando información de efecto envolvente, y generar la señal de audio incluyendo una pluralidad de canales que utilizan la señal de componente ambiental modificada y la señal de componente de origen. Por consiguiente, en un aparato para descodificar una señal de audio y método del mismo de acuerdo con la presente invención, una señal de componente ambiental se extrae y se modifica basándose en la correlación y las señales de componente ambiental y de origen modificadas se originan utilizando diferentes unidades de salida de señal, respectivamente. Por lo tanto, la presente invención mejora un efecto estereofónico de la señal de audio. Y, una unidad de salida de señal para originar una señal de componente ambiental se dispone para tener una dirección de salida diferente de aquella de otra unidad de salida de señal para originar una señal de componente de origen, por lo que puede proporcionarse una señal de audio a un oyente de la cual se mejora el sonido ambiental.
